Combating loneliness, promoting independence and providing peace of mind to families across Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds

As more families juggle busy lives, while caring for relatives, our support and service is providing a lifeline for people across Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds.

Our Bespoke Life tailored companionship and support service is designed to combat loneliness, help people maintain independence at home, and give families peace of mind that their loved ones are supported and engaged in meaningful activity.

Our wonderful team of companions provide personalised and dedicated quality time, supporting clients in daily activities, starting with that all important chat.

From simple friendship and conversation, sharing hobbies, meal preparation, admin assistance, driving and accompanying clients to medical appointments or the shops, to fun trips out – even Steam train trips and Cheltenham Races are on the menu!

The Bespoke Life companions not only help their clients, but they also enable family carers to work, take a break and enjoy more quality time with their relatives.

Vicky Weaver, Founder of The Bespoke Life explains,
“We’re companions; we’re not carers. We are a service that provides non-medical support for people to stay independent, active and socially connected. Loneliness is one of the biggest challenges facing people today, and our role is to bring connection and a sense of purpose back into their daily lives.”

Emily, pictured with client Mrs A, has been a companion for a year now and she shared how each visit is shaped around the individual.

“What I love most about my role is spending one-to-one time with my clients, having meaningful chats and truly getting to know what matters to them that day. For example, with Mrs A I have a catch up over a cuppa when I arrive, then ask if there’s anything she really needs to go and do – maybe go shopping, run an errand or simply enjoy some time out together.”

We receive lots of feedback from clients complementing our service for its compassion and flexibility.

Client Mrs A from Cheltenham, pictured with companion Emily, explained how her son suggested the service, “It was my son who thought it was a good idea… he said it would be nice for you to have a lady come and do things with you. It worked out nicely when I met Emily.”

Mrs J, pictured in the doorway, from Cheltenham shared, “I came across The Bespoke Life brochure in the chemist attached to the doctors. As I needed transport to and from appointments. I decided to ring, I am 88 and find I need a companion or someone to help me. I rang The Bespoke Life to ask about their services. These people have changed my life, and I use this company constantly.

“The companions are kind, courteous and caring, never making you feel “OLD”. They don’t just take you to hospital and doctors appointments, they will take you to wherever you want to go. A scenic ride, a coffee, to see the Christmas lights, whatever you wish is their command. Always making them feel like friends and I look forward to my next meeting. If you are isolated like me, they are a god send. I recommend them highly; your wish is their command!”

Client Mr T who lives in the Cotswolds shared, “My life has been transformed since my companion started visiting me. She has given me purpose again; she is my saviour. I now enjoy my days knowing I will be seeing someone, getting out of the house and having someone to talk to.”

Relatives also value the peace of mind which The Bespoke Life brings to them.

The daughter of Mrs J commented, “Mum says she really likes her companion and has enjoyed all the time they have spent together, including recent trips to art galleries and shopping for jeans at John Lewis.”

Relative of Mr W in Cheltenham said, “Having the online portal app where they update information after every visit is so helpful as we live far away… we can always see how the visit went and if there are any concerns. We would recommend without hesitation.”
