Companionship & Befriending Package

The Bespoke Life’s Companionship & Befriending Package brings confidence, calm and connection at times when life can begin to feel more uncertain.

At times of ill health, frailty, or life’s more testing moments, people do not lose capability, but confidence — the confidence to face the day alone.

Loneliness, anxiety and the quiet erosion of routine can also make the world feel smaller and more uncertain, even while living independently.

At The Bespoke Life we offer something profoundly human: friendship, compassion, presence and understanding.

We provide unhurried, companionship built around familiarity, trust and respect. Through consistent, thoughtfully matched companions, we help people feel safer, more confident and more connected — supporting independence, wellbeing and a sense of self when it matters most.

Companionship & Befriending

What our clients say about our services

One of the most profound lessons in medicine is that not every treatment comes in a bottle. This experience was a powerful reminder that the best medicine is sometimes beautifully simple. In dementia care, preserving personhood is just as important as managing symptoms, and sometimes the most therapeutic intervention we can offer is human connection.

Dr Alia Fahmy

Mum says she really likes her companion and has enjoyed all the time they have spent together, including recent trips to art galleries and shopping for jeans at John Lewis one week.

Daughter of Mrs J, Cheltenham

Having my companion for a while now I have always found that she does a very professional job. She’s totally trustworthy with a very sunny personality.

Mr T, Cheltenham

I popped over today and he was ironing!!! Something I haven’t seen him do for a long time; I think this given him a new lease for life. It takes the pressure off us, me with the appointments, it means we can visit him for a chat rather than driving/sorting/arranging everything. Thank you.

Mr S

These people have changed my life, and I use this company constantly. The companions are kind, courteous and caring, never making you feel “OLD”. They don’t just take you to hospital & Drs appointments, your wish is their command - a scenic ride, a coffee, to see the Christmas lights. They always feel like friends, and I look forward to my next meeting. If you are isolated like me, they are a god send. I recommend them highly.

Mrs J, Cheltenham

Both myself and my daughter work very busy jobs and our other family live away. My father no longer lives with my mum juggling time with my dad, time with my mum and my career, I’m finding myself feeling tired. Since introducing TBL to my mum, she has been able to visit my dad regularly while still fulfilling her hobbies and passions. They really take everyone’s feelings into consideration and myself and my family feel such a weight lifted from our shoulders.

Mrs K

I work full time in the NHS and my job is very pressured. Knowing that mum is getting out and about and enjoying herself is exactly what I need to take some of the pressure off me.

Mrs C

Having rarely left the house, my sister needed massive encouragement to become more social. Doing this 1’2’1 with a TBL companion was the way to do it (having tried many other ways!). I am so pleased to see her enjoying a little of life again.

Mrs D

With having a busy career and a family of my own, I don’t always have availability to get my nan to her appointments, having the TBL really eases my mind and my nan having someone she knows to take to her to her appointments. The family portal is so helpful in the situation too, being able to relay the information from the appointment when I can’t be there, it also takes the pressure off my nan to remember every detail.”

FAQs

Below are some answers to our most asked questions about our companionship & befriending service…

How is companionship & befriending different from general care?

Our focus is not task-based clinical care, but meaningful human connection. We provide unhurried, friendship-led companionship that builds trust, confidence and emotional well-being.

How do you match the right companion?

We take time to understand personality, interests, life history and preferences. Companions are carefully matched to ensure genuine relationships can develop over time.

Will I see the same person each time?

Yes. Continuity is central to what we do. We prioritise consistent companions so familiarity and trust can naturally grow.

What does a typical visit look like?

There’s no “typical” visit—it’s shaped around the client. It could be conversation, a walk, a shared meal, a hobby, or simply quiet, reassuring company.

Do you provide personal care?

We focus on non-clinical, relationship-led support. If personal care is required, we can complement existing care arrangements or help guide families to the right support.

How often can visits take place?

Visits are flexible—from occasional support to regular weekly or multi-visit arrangements.
